OTHER FRIENDSHIPS
From a lifetime of work in various countries, well over 100 friendships evolved and survived the test of time. Many countries? Consider that I have flown 1.8 million miles on United Airlines alone, and independently have long had the status of a Lufthansa Senator. My repository of photo mementoes from Australia via Japan, China, Russia, India, Israel to Brazil and Colombia, and of course the USA and many European places simply overwhelms the scope of this website. Therefore, let me illustrate friendships by just 4 examples/locations. |

Ewan Eastham loves to ski. Here is a memento from Stierloch (Zuers-Lech) with Ewan to the left, Boulder’s Bobby Netterstrom (center) and Ewan’s friend Nic, beer brewer from Banja Luka (right), another typically adventurous Brit — beer brewing in Banja Luka? |
Ewan Eastham and Nicola Bamford (London/Cumbria Brits to the core) became friends when we rented their Cap d’Antibes house in 2009. They hosted us in London (see here) and in Mumbai. Our paths may cross perhaps a mere 2 times a year, but it always is as if we had daily contact. |

1970 in Creteil (Paris). The Capys with their 2 daughters and Traudl. The friendship started in 1964 in Galtuer, when the Capys brought 40 Parisian high school students for a ski adventure and I was their 19-year-old ski instructor. |
2010 in Paris. At one time, they hosted Kerstin for a summer at their Normandie children’s camp. In this picture, they visited at our temporary Paris home. |
